Vijay Urmaliya, from Monash University’s Parkville Campus, leads the ASCEPT student forum. In his second year of ASCEPT membership, Vijay obviously sees a career in research, as he also has had two years of professional experience in pharmaceutical industry (Product Management) but is now enrolled in 3rd year of a PhD at the Department of Pharmaceutical Biology, Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Monash University and working as an undergraduate practical class Demonstrator. This degree follows on from a  B.Pharm (Distinction) from North Maharastra University, Jalgaon and M.Pharm. (Pharmacology) from The M S University, Baroda, India. Vijay received the “Gufic Prize” at 38th Indian Pharmacological Society Annual Conference, Chennai, India, December, 2005 for M.Pharm. research work presentation. To help him financially, Vijay is the recipient of a MGS (Monash Graduate Scholarship) and MIPRS (Monash International Postgraduate Scholarship). Vijay has one publication from his PhD work and has presented 6 posters and one oral presentation at national and international level conferences.
