Dept of Veterans Affairs Repatriation Pharmaceutical Reference Committee 1982 – 1990, Dept of Health and Ageing Australian Pharmaceutical Advisory Council 1992-1998 and Dept of Health and Ageing Adverse Drug Reactions Advisory Committee (ADRAC) 1992-1999. Led national projects such as AMH.

Member of ASCEPT since 1976 serving as a Councillor 1986-1988 and 1990 – 1992 and as ASCEPT President in 1991.

Involvement in the HBPRCA, the International Society of Hypertension and the CSANZ, Chaired NHF National Blood Pressure Advisory Committee 1998-2003.

Long-standing involvement in medical education through the Flinders University medical course and postgraduate physician training

Member of the Australian Medical Council, incl Examination and Medical School Accreditation Committees. He was chair of the Committee of Deans of Australian Medical Schools 2005-2006.

Awarded an Order of Australia – Medal in 2005 and in 2006 a Staff Award for Outstanding Contribution to Flinders University

Currently Emeritus Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at Flinders University and Flinders Medical Centre
