Professor Greg Dusting

Greg Dusting is Professor-Director of Tissue Engineering at BOBIM, a Principal Research Fellow of the NHMRC, and Professor of Pharmacology and Surgery in The University of Melbourne. He was a PhD student and post-doc of the eminent international pharmacologists Prof Michael Rand (Melbourne) and Sir John Vane (London). He has built a distinguished international reputation in Cardiovascular Pharmacology over 30 years with more than 200 publications which have attracted 5000 citations in the medical and scientific literature, and for 4 years was a research scientist in big pharma in the UK. He was elected Fellow of the British Pharmacological Society in 2005. He leads distinguished teams in tissue engineering and cytoprotection, with special interests in stem cell pharmacology and angiogenesis. He is on the Scientific Advisory Boards of 3 start-up companies seeded from new compounds and devices patented in his laboratory and BOBIM. He is also on the SAB of the Australian Tissue Engineering Centre, which contracts biotech and pharmaceutical R&D companies around the world.
