Exploring risk, responsibility and regulation in modern clinical pharmacology and toxicology.
This year’s program will explore the medicolegal realities shaping contemporary prescribing practice – from high-risk medicines and toxicology cases to documentation, disclosure and regulatory accountability. Through expert-led sessions and interactive case discussions, participants will examine how clinical judgement intersects with legal scrutiny in real-world practice.
Keynote address:
We are pleased to welcome A/Prof Noel Cranswick MBBS, BMedSc, LLB, FRACP, who will present on Paediatric Toxicology and Medicolegal Issues.
A/Prof Cranswick is Director of the Clinical Pharmacology Unit, Department of Medicine, Royal Children’s Hospital; Director of APPRU at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and the Royal Children’s Hospital; Associate Director of the Melbourne Children’s Trials Centre; and Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne.

This practical, case-based weekend is designed for clinical pharmacology and toxicology advanced trainees and consultants but welcomes all healthcare professionals with an interest in the theme.
Registrations close 11:59PM AEDT, Friday 1 May 2026.

Abstract submissions
2026 abstract submissions have now closed!
All trainees are invited to submit an abstract for presentation. Your topic does not need to align with the weekend theme, though submissions on “Medicolegal Frontiers in Clinical Pharmacology” are welcome. We encourage a broad range of topics, including:
- Research projects
- Case reports
- Audits
- Safety and quality initiatives relevant to the Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology curriculum
Abstract submission requirements:
- Maximum 300 words, formatted to fit one A4 page, using Calibri, size 11
- Include a clear title, your name, workplace, and supervisor(s)
- You may include up to two figures, tables, or graphs, which should be clear and readable within the page
- Abstracts should follow a peer-reviewed journal style (e.g., background, aims, methods, results, conclusion)
- Highlight relevance to clinical pharmacology practice, support with relevant literature, and raise questions for discussion
