Why join ASCEPT?

Become part of a network of professionals working in clinical and experimental pharmacology and toxicology. ASCEPT members are leaders in their respective fields and their professional expertise sought to assist in the development of guidelines, training opportunities and furthering research across Australia and New Zealand. ASCEPT promotes advances in research, provides teaching and training and ensures that ASCEPT has a major role in advising government and other organisations on related matters. There are now close to 500 ASCEPT members representing a range of areas including cardiovascular, clinical pharmacology, drug discovery, drug disposition and response, education, innovation and industry, neuropharmacology, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacogenomics, toxicology, urogenital and gastrointestinal, and respiratory and inflammation.

    As an ASCEPT member, you can join any ASCEPT Special Interest Groups (SIGs). As a SIG member, you are part of a group of specialists furthering the development of new knowledge and practice in common disease areas, and clinical and experimental research.

  • Enjoy discounted Annual Scientific Meeting registration

    Members enjoy reduced registration fees for the Annual Scientific Meeting. Additionally, they have the opportunity to suggest symposium topics for the event, helping shape the conference’s content and direction.

    ASCEPT offers several prestigious prizes to both full and student members the majority of which are awarded at the Annual Scientific Meeting.

    Members are affiliated with the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology. The International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR) is a voluntary, non-profit association representing the interests of pharmacologists around the world through promoting international cooperation, sponsoring regional activities, encouraging free exchange of scientists and ideas and developing public awareness.

    • Reciprocity as regards items of interest in e-bulletins, house journals and on websites.
    • The right of ASCEPT members to attend BPS general meetings at a concessionary non-member rate.
    • The right of BPS members to attend ASCEPT meetings at ASCEPT member rates.
    • For BPS focussed meetings, ASCEPT members will be able to register at the applicable BPS member or student member rate as applicable.
    • Adding ASCEPT members as permanent affiliates to BPS online membership registration system. (This means, that ASCEPT members wishing to attend a BPS general meeting, can do so by registering online as an Affiliate Member of the BPS.
    • For BPS specialist focused meetings, ASCEPT members will enjoy the same concessionary prices as BPS full or student members, as applicable.
