Professor Sarah Roberts-Thomson – The King’s Birthday 2026 Honours List
ASCEPT Congratulates Sarah Roberts-Thomson on King’s Birthday Honours
ASCEPT would like to extend our congratulations to Professor Sarah Roberts-Thomson who was awarded Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in this year’s Kings birthday Honours.
Sarah has been a member of ASCEPT since 1991 and served as a member of the Executive Committee of the former Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics Section from 1999 to 2003 (including as Secretary in 2001), and as ASCEPT Secretary from 2003 to 2004. She was recognised “For significant service to pharmaceutical medicine, to academic leadership, and to tertiary education”.
Professor Roberts-Thomson has an active research program focused on breast cancer biology and drug discovery, with over 100 peer-reviewed publications, approximately $10.5 million in competitive grant funding, and 25 PhD completions. She has held senior academic leadership roles at the University of Queensland, where she served as Head of School of Pharmacy, and at the University of Sydney, where she is currently Deputy Dean (Academic), Faculty of Medicine and Health. She holds a Principal Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (UK), reflecting her sustained commitment to mentorship and equity and diversity outcomes at a whole-of-institution level. Her contribution to governance spans more than 20 years, including roles with the Pharmacists Board of Queensland and, since 2018, as a Non-Executive Director and current Chair of the Australian Pharmacy Council.
