ASCEPT Mentoring Program
The ASCEPT Mentoring Program has been refreshed and relaunched for 2026, offering an engaging, supportive and impactful mentoring experience exclusively for members across all career stages in pharmacological and toxicological sciences.
Designed to strengthen career development as well as professional confidence and connection, the program brings together mentees and mentors in thoughtfully matched partnerships that foster meaningful conversations, growth and shared learning. Whether you are a student, early- or mid-career researcher, or an established professional, the program provides a structured yet flexible opportunity to reflect, explore options and build valuable networks within the ASCEPT community.
Participants will benefit from a clear program framework that includes an orientation session, curated mentoring resources, and regular check-ins across the year, helping mentoring relationships to thrive. Monthly mentor–mentee meetings will be complemented by optional webinars and workshops focused on professional and skill development, ensuring the experience remains dynamic, practical and rewarding.
For mentees, the program is a chance to gain tailored guidance, clarify goals, build confidence and learn from someone independent of their day-to-day environment. For mentors, it is a meaningful way to give back, reflect on your own career journey, and support the next generation of scientists/clinicians, while strengthening connections across the ASCEPT community.
Running from March to December each year, the ASCEPT Mentoring Program celebrates the power of shared experience, inclusive support and purposeful connection helping members at every stage to feel confident, capable and inspired in their careers.
Expressions of interest (EOIs) will be sought early each calendar year.
Applications for 2026 are now open. EOIs for 2026 close Friday 6 March.
“The value of mentoring programs is increasingly being recognised and we see huge potential and great value in offering this initiative. We believe the program will be of particular interest to students, new investigators and those looking for a change in direction.”

“We have been fortunate in our careers in having both official and unofficial mentors, who have been instrumental in giving sage advice, providing informal support as well as being a sounding board. These relationships have helped us enormously in building our careers. During the course of developing a career, we often recognise the need to increase our skills and knowledge, broaden our networks and talk to someone about options for professional development. A mentor, who is independent from our day-to-day lives, is ideal for offering this advice.”
